Short version
MeterJournal helps you log readings, forecast usage, and manage premium features, but forecasts and OCR results are assistive tools, not official billing records.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MeterJournal mobile application, this website, and any related services provided by Lupo (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using MeterJournal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or related services.
1. What MeterJournal Is
MeterJournal is an offline-first iOS app that allows users to:
- create and manage utility meters;
- record meter readings manually or through OCR scanning;
- estimate bills and usage forecasts;
- track budgets and compare historical periods;
- import or export data through supported file formats;
- access optional premium features through Apple In-App Purchases.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws applicable to you in order to use MeterJournal.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MeterJournal for your personal or internal lawful use, in accordance with these Terms and Apple’s App Store rules.
4. Important Product Disclaimer
MeterJournal provides estimates, forecasts, trends, reminders, and usage insights based on the data you enter and the pricing rules you configure. MeterJournal is not a utility provider, metering authority, billing service, or financial advisor.
Actual utility bills may differ from any in-app estimate due to provider pricing models, taxes, fees, multi-tier tariffs, minimum charges, penalties, provider adjustments, billing cycle differences, OCR errors, or incorrect user input.
You are responsible for reviewing all readings, rates, budget settings, and exported data before relying on them.
5. Your Responsibilities
- enter accurate readings and pricing information;
- review OCR results before saving them;
- use the app only for lawful purposes;
- not interfere with or misuse the app or any related services;
- maintain your own backups if you need long-term retention of exported data.
7. Billing, Renewals, Apple, and RevenueCat
Payments are processed by Apple, not by us directly. Subscription billing, renewals, price changes, cancellations, refund handling, and payment methods are governed by Apple’s App Store terms and policies.
Unless canceled before the renewal date, auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically through your Apple App Store account.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, validate entitlements, support restoration of purchases, and unlock premium features in the app. RevenueCat does not replace Apple as the payment processor.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Refund requests are handled by Apple unless applicable law requires otherwise.
8. Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of MeterJournal at any time, including free features, premium features, pricing, and eligibility rules. We may also update the app to fix bugs, improve functionality, or meet legal requirements.
9. Data and Deletion
In the current app version, most app data is stored locally on your device. You may delete local app data using the in-app delete function or by deleting the app.
Subscription and purchase records may still be retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies and legal obligations.
10. Intellectual Property
MeterJournal, including its software, branding, design, text, graphics, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Lupo and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where allowed by law;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app without authorization;
- use the app in a way that violates law or the rights of others;
- attempt to bypass payment, entitlement, or premium access controls.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeterJournal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that:
- the app will always be available or error-free;
- OCR results will always be accurate;
- forecasts or bill estimates will match real-world invoices;
- the app will meet every user’s requirements.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lupo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity arising out of or related to your use of MeterJournal.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to MeterJournal will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid for MeterJournal premium features in the 12 months before the claim; or
- USD 50.
14. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or premium features if you materially violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of BIH, without regard to conflict of laws principles, except where mandatory local consumer laws require otherwise.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of MeterJournal after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
